What about me, you ask? Well, if you know me, you know that I am a happy MacBook Pro owner. I have been [[:notes:memories:first_macbook_pro|since 2011 when I got my first MacBook Pro]]. In 2017, I looked at upgrading my MBP because it was losing support - Mojave was coming and High Sierra was as high as it was going to go. I loved it and it lasted me so long. So I went out to my local Apple Store to buy it one weekend (instead of repeating 2011 and just buying it online and waiting a weekend to get it). I figured I'd stay with the same base model as I previously did. I figured, it was enough. I regretted it quickly. What about me, you ask?  So I spent about the same amount of money, got a horrible keyboard, and 128 GB of storage which is insufficient anymore. After installing Microsoft Office, Firefox, and a few documents, I had like 20 GB of space free. So I couldn't use it as my daily driver like I had hoped. So In October 2019, I got a new job and decided to reward myself by dumping my 2017 for a 2019 model maxed out with 16 GB of RAM, 1 TB storage, and quad core i7. This was powerful enough to be my daily driver. I almost got a 15" model but I absolutely cannot stand the large size. I was tempted to get it because of the 32 GB of RAM option which is really what I wanted. It would allow me to run some VMs locally. While the last generation of the butterfly keyboard was better, it still sucks. In November or December, I bought myself a space grey magic keyboard and I absolutely love this thing. It's great to type on. It's just perfect. So when Apple released the new 2020 models, I decided to go out (well, stay in because of COVID-19), and order a 2020 13" MBP with the new 10th gen i7, 32 GB of RAM, and 1 TB storage. This will last me a while. I won't have to think about what is happening around my keyboard either. So I don't consider these two laptops as actually owning them. I'm not keeping them, I'm trading them in for credit. Now I wait for my new MBP. I ordered it May 11, 2020. It has an estimated arrival date of June 4-11. We'll see when it does show up. A whole month. Thanks, COVID-19. So I spent about the same amount of money, got a horrible keyboard, and 128 GB of storage which is insufficient anymore.
